You know I love Hunter but he’s dead wrong on this one. Rooney is an admitted carpetbagger running against a top notch conservative.

Duncan Hunter showed his true colors when he endorsed Mike Huckabee during the 2008 primaries.

Why don’t you put back up your chart that showed Tancredo to be a nazi and Edwards to be a libertarian, punchdrunk.

LOL! How about Tancredo for supporting Romney? Or Palin for supporting McCain?

Who did YOU vote for in the 2008 elections? Ross Perot?

Republicans lost big in 2008 because they didn’t have a single decent candidate. Not one.
They were all afraid of Hillary.

Republican’s lost because they allowed idiots in the MSM to tell them who the “frontrunners” should be and nominated one of the RINOs. They also lost because of idiot GOPers not recognizing a Reaganite when he was standing in front of their faces.

Duncan Hunter is no Ronald Reagan. Not even close.
Ronald Reagan was successful because he had an abundance of something Duncan Hunter in sorely lacking: charisma.

Reagan also would have never endorsed someone like Mike Huckleberry.

Tim Walberg is the guy who defeated the GOP’s chosen Rino (Schwarz) in 06. After defeating Schwarz the GOP gave Walberg minimal support in the general election. Walberg served one term before being stripped of funds by the NRCC right before the election last winter. They called him a lost cause and left him to lose by a whopping 2%. Basically the GOP treated Walberg the way they treated Hunter in the presidential race.

Rooney himself doesn’t sound like a bad guy but I do question why he would allow the NRCC to use him to manipulate a primary race when he could just as easily gone to a district without a conservative candidate. Also I think he should run for state senator or something first. (I would definitely vote for him in that case) Then there’s uncle Dan Rooney who was appointed ambassador to Ireland by Obama. Granted its just a family tie but it does make me nervous without seeing how Brian legislates.

Actually, Hunter endorsed Hunter. That’s why he ran. Reagan endorse Jerry Ford, after loosing to him, so learn something.

DeMint endorsed Flip Romney, Coburn and Inhofe endorsed McQueeg, etc. So it goes

I don’t think the NRCC is making an endorsement in that primary. At least I couldn’t find anything on that. Hunter is acting on his own, and is seeking out conservative Iraq/Afghanistan vets to raise money for. Hunter has zero love for the NRCC. Sounds like he’s doing his son a favor. Duncan D. served with Rooney in Iraq. But if your guy is Walberg, I can see how it is not appreciated.

Rooney himself has said that the NRCC recruited him to run in the district, he’s also hoping for the endorsement of Joe Schwarz.

I’m not beating up on Hunter, you know where I stand on him. If he runs for president, he can count on my vote again. I just disagree with him on this issue.
