A small correction. Many members of the Sierra Club have come to their senses and realized that no amount of environmental regulations and such will work to save the environment they cherish in the face of titanic population growth. I know this because one of my friends is a member of the Sierra Club and this is talked about often at meetings and gatherings according to him. We cannot conserve enough to save the American Wilderness if we are going to have a billion people in the United States. It isn't possible. But a billion people is where we are headed if we don't do something about immigration both legal and illegal. So there is a movement within the Sierra Club to make immigration a major issue. Thus far the Sierra Club has been more of less neutral on this issue. This is the 800 lb Gorilla in the living room.

Gelbaum is the largest individual contributor to the Sierra Club I'm told. I cannot confirm this but this is what I hear. He has given them millions. He is absolutely against any controls on immigration. This is why many in the club question his sincerity on environmental issues. But he's got the big checkbook so nobody will challenge him. Many members are nearly in revolt because of this man.

Gelbaum is the type of guy we all here at FR love to hate. He's a liberals liberal. He's on the wrong side of every issue and he doesn't mind using his fortune to get his way. Of course his fortune was made in the Hedge Fund area. This is the way most liberals made their money, financial manipulation. Very few liberals make their money by manufacturing or providing useful services. They are mostly money men. That's why New York is filled to the brim with this type of guy. However I think Gelbaum lives in the SF Bay area if I'm not mistaken. Or course he lives in a very exclusive area with security and the like. He's one of the chosen ones.

I wish I could think of a way to get at these guys where it would really hurt and that's the pocketbook. Of course Soros is the worst of the worst. But one thing I can say about liberals with big money. They don't mind shelling it out. Obama must have had a lot of cash from these types of guys. It's the only way he could have generated the type of money he had. I cannot believe he got the money he got with $10 and $20 donations on the Internet. I refuse to believe it.
