Non issue by 2012. The waters have already been muddled.

The board that oversaw the clemency have already been injected into the fray. If they played the role in determining that he should be given clemency and Huckabee went on their recommendation, then it’s over for this issue.

You're delusional if you think that. It's not just the latest guy, though he is the proverbial straw breaking the RINO's back. But this latest straw - four dead cops - is on top of a pile that includes Wayne Dumond and WAY more commutations than his predecessors, and WAY more commutations than surrounding states. It fits a pattern, and that pattern is that Huck liked to let violent criminals out of prison.

Full documentation of the clemency process is here; see page 27 for the actual clemency certificate signed by Huckabee. It indicates right on the certificate that it is making Clemmons "immediately" eligible for parole.

May be over for you, but not 99% of other folks.

No it’s really not. You don’t get the South at all. Barbour or Riley will absolutely destroy Huckabee with it because here in the South when you commit murder against an innocent we want you put to death and to quote Bocephus, if you ain’t into that we don’t give a damn.

Huckabee committed an unpardonable sin as far as justice goes. This is actually one of my key problems with Jindal too. I don’t think Louisiana has executed anyone in years and that makes me worry what his true feelings on the penalty are. He also needs to man up and get the gurney cranking if he is even considering getting my primary vote.

Just look at the records of Bob Riley in Alabama and Haley Barbour in Mississippi. 19 people have been executed under Bob Riley. In the previous 20 years a grand total of 25 had been executed and 40% of Mississippi’s executions since 1977 have been under Barbour. With Haley Barbour and Bob Riley you have two good governors who are committed to Justice.

With Huckabee you have someone who pardons murderers. We know about Maurice Clemmons and Wayne Dumond. How many others don’t we know about? When will they strike? Who will be the next person who dies because Huckabee was soft on criminals?

Sure, “The buck stops over there somewhere. Not here!”

Huckabee has the blood of 4 police officers on his hands. Three years will not wash it off. His deceptive, insensitive damage control campaign only made things worse, by exposing him as a weasel, who still thinks he made the right choice, and under the same circumstances, would unleash the same sort of thug on the community.
