So essentially we need to do some “REAL community Organizing” for Civil disobedience.

But the question is, with so many hidden taxes and so any people working for other companies that take out their taxes before they ever get paid how does one stage a sucessfull tax revolt by Defunding the vermin in D.C. ?

IIRC one of Newt's planks in his Contract with America was to Defund the Left.

It is a great idea. The problem is that every federal agency becomes the equivalent of a living, breathing organism with employees and constituencies that will fight to the death for survival. I'm not aware of a single post Depression era agency that fullfilled its legislative goal and was subsequently defunded.

We still have NPR because . . .

Not just defund, but DISSOLVE.

Are there any sites out there with ridiculous laws we could break? I like the border flower idea, that would work good in state capitals that near other state borders....

If they have the guts to do this, then surely they have the guts to simply disobey fascist laws non-violently and peacefully, to fight in the courts and not the streets. Yet it's a far safer and more effective way to cripple Leviathan.

I cannot afford to fight in court unless I defend myself. Beyond this I think the defund idea is perfect BUT we have to stick to our guns. 100%! Additionally, I suggest a budget reduction of 1% per year in both discretionary and non-discretionary spending (the very idea of which is nonsense) until the budget is in surplus. And votes to repeal the XVI Amendment and abolish the IRS replacing it with a national sales tax.

Outstanding strategy, except for 1 thing: The threat of not being elected has been eliminated by the lobbyist revolvoing door (see "Center for American Progress"), so these bought-off, testicle-free Vichy congresspiles have no motivation to side with the People against their Masters.

Dr. Wheeler must remember something we all tend to forget: We are the only ones who play by the rules and are motivated by a sense of right and wrong. These people have no morals and no goals beyond the acquisition of power over others.

You can't count on the feelings of regret or guilt from professional psychopaths. There just isn't anything there to cultivate.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.

I believe this would work well if coupled with a little education on the Rights of a Juror. I would suggest everyone read “The Citizens Rule Book”. If people were educated on our Jury System and why we a Trial by a Jury of your Peers and especially, Their True Power as a JUROR to NULLIFY BAD LAW and STOP TYRANNY, We could restore this Republic in a few short years.
I might add that over the years I personally have asked dozens of Judges in Private if they Believe a Jury has the right to decide the Law as well as the Facts and 100% said NO, until I informed them that virtually Every Supreme Court Justice starting with John Jay says they do. They especially get testy when you ask them how they swore an oath to uphold something they obviously have never read, once I handed my pocket edition to a Federal Judge after saying just that. At that point the conversation was usually over and they weren’t very happy with me.

A jury has the absolute right to JUDGE THE LAW as well as the Facts in evidence, if you believe the Law to be Unjust, then it is your right and YOUR DUTY as an American to NULLIFY BAD LAW. The Government can Only Prosecute,it requires CITIZENS to ENFORCE.
John Jay our First Supreme Court Justice.

Good article, good discussion, good words: Defund, Disobey, and DISSOLVE (appropriately shouted by griffin). Yesterday the House passed four significant bills before jaunting off to Copenhagen. I’ll venture a guess that passage of each broke House rules, if not laws. Because someone mentioned a rule and “spending limits” together, the attempt to increase the nation’s debt limit by $1.8T got temporarily scaled back to a mere $300B.

If we tried, we could surely cite another time when rules or laws have slowed or turned — however slightly — this government’s headlong rush toward being USSR II. We might find more than one example where the “rule of law” has had its proper effect; maybe several, if minor or temporary.

This thread doesn’t mention that we have an entire Chicago mob of thugs in the White House, and majorities of congress critters either so stupid or so scared that they only get off their knees to attend to necessary body functions. To deal with the thugs, I’ll offer another word: decapitation (spoken very softly and accomplished with great care).

The Founders in their usual brilliance place the power of the purse in the House, whose members must face election every two years - for if they become profligate with this power the voters can throw them out within months (24 max) rather than wait years (6) like the Senate.

Didn't the founders in their usual brilliance initially have the states appointing the senators so they would be more accountable to the states they represent? The same busy little bastards in 1913 also instituted the income tax.
