That is not a good analogy because our government was founded mostly by deists. In many ways our government was corrupted from the beginning when Hamilton established the National Bank. The Early Church was founded by Christ and the Holy Spirit guiding His Apostles. If the original Church doctrine was divinely inspired to be true, then at what historical council or papal proclamation was Church doctrine demonstrated to have become something less than true?
By “Church” do you mean the Catholic church, or the true church which is the body of believers?
