Peter Schiff is predicting that the next decade 2010-2020 will REALLY be the decade from hell. Liberal Time Magazine has labeled THIS decade "the decade from hell," (2000-2010), but Republican gnius, Peter Schiff says they're wrong.
Watch the YouTube link. Seriously, don't skip this stuff.

Wow... I love this guy!!! We’re going to contribute to his campaign!!!
So is it unconstitutional that I am forced to buy auto insurance?
Since it's the States that do it and not the Federal government, no it isn't un-Constitutional. There is no Federal requirement that you purchase car insurance.
States have a long established and well litigated Power to require that certain licenses be obtained and insurance coverages acquired for many reasons.
The Feds, however, have no such Power.

Thanks very much for posting. HOORAY Peter Schiff! Schiff for Senate BUMP!
It would be if you CHOSE not to own a car.
So then the states can constitutionally force me to buy health insurance. Can the Feds make the States force the purchase of health insurance by withholding Medicare payments or some other coercion?
mark for later
Also, you are only required to buy auto insurance if you actually decide to operate a car. In the case of health insurance, you must buy it if you decide to breathe.
The auto insurance that we must buy is Liability Insurance, to protect the other guy in the event our unintended actions, while operating a motor vehicle, cause damage or injury to another party. If there is a loan on the car, the loaner requires that we have Comprehensive and Collision insurance on the car, to cover their investment. We are NOT required to purchase Medical Payments insurance under an Auto Policy, which reimburses for expenses related to physical injury without regard to liability.
When people, especially liberal politicians, compare the requirement for Health Insurance to Auto Insurance, it’s apples and oranges.
Hope this helps explain the difference.
Another interresting, and related, video:

I never believe a 'gnius'.
You can self-fund your auto insurance in Florida.
Liability or Comprehensive and Collision, or Medical Payments? Maybe all three?
The argument about making all of us buy health insurance is that the public is being protected from the uninsured person who gets into an accident or otherwise incurs an unexpected medical condition. Right now, we all pay for that person’s care through the pool that covers emergency treatment for the uninsured. So there is a financial injury incurred by another person - the taxpayer - if a person doesn’t have health insurance and is injured/ill.
I’d rather have that guy buy his own insurance, on his own dime, than rely on me to pick up the tab.
yes
Awesome! you do that!! Let’s hope he wins!
What’s gnu wid’ you?
