There is plenty of evidence that the framers intent was to remove foreign influence and divided loyalties from the position of the Commander in Chief. See Jay's writings (pre - with letter to Washington and post - Federalist Papers) for a few examples.
Someone born with, or having at the time of office holding, dual citizenship means that person is beholden to another country's laws. There is a very good reason why the framers choose to prohibit (with the NBC clause) someone with dual, or divided loyalties from being President and CinC of the military.
