re: in retaliation for air strikes against Al-Qaeda targets in Yemen

You can bet your sweet bippy I'd be seriously upping the number of air strikes against that area! And I would make darn sure they knew exactly why they were being singled out for special attention from the American war machine.

The would-be bomber should have been whisked off that plane and directly to Gitmo, complete with a total blackout of info as to what had become of him. Any inquiry by the press or whoever should be met with, “Don't worry, it's being taken care of by those who know how to handle such miscreants.”

There are all sorts of indications as to just how inept The One is at his job as ‘leader’ of the most wonderful nation on Earth, but this one incident will tell us more about him and his ability, not to mention willingness, to handle a very real and present threat to the nation that put him in charge.

So far he has responded exactly as I would have expected. Talk, talk, talk. Indecision and delayed response. He spent the entire campaign telling us how bad things were and assuring us he could do better. Time to put up or shut up.
