SOT - Bob Schieffer
"Republicans are still dead set against everything, and the Democratic left is furious. They believe the President and the Senate Democrats gave up too much when they dropped the so-called 'public option' and other features. So, liberals are going to try to restore some of what the Senate took out of the bill, which of course would kill it for sure when it goes back to the Senate. And there are even bigger differences now over abortion coverage, so this thing could still fall apart.

"And there are even bigger differences now over abortion coverage, so this thing could STILL FALL APART (emphasis mine)."
So if even liberal Bob Scheiffer doesn't think it's over, you're not giving up, are you?
The content of any version is irrelevant since Article 1 Section 8 does not specifically grant Congress the power to regulate health care. This is the point people need to ram down the throats of their politicians!
BS. Everytime we hear “It is Dead” it comes back, like a disease. Evil cannot be stopped.
How about the insignificant detail that the American people don’t want their Congressional Deathcare. Big Brother wants the power to dictate and determine who lives and who dies. Remind you of Nazi Germany?
“The content of any version is irrelevant since Article 1 Section 8 does not specifically grant Congress the power to regulate health care.”
True, but meaningless when we wait for someone to do something about it.
-educate your families and friends with thoughtful compelling comments
-call your congress critters
-support conservative candidates
No one is going to save our country for us
...and here is where we start: http://pushbackuntil.com/Mandates.htm.
Could the Rats cannibalize each other and end up with nothing???
I say YEAH OH YEAH!
“This is the point people need to ram down the throats of their politicians!”
Tell your politicians AND write a letter to the editor.
“Evil cannot be stopped.”
Neither can good, unless good men do nothing.
“the American people dont want their Congressional Deathcare.”
Can you imagine being at the mercy of the lib Dems for our very life and death?! THAT is why I keep fighting.
What will happen to my teenage, happy and lovely neice, who has cerebral palsy?
What will happen to my brother’s friend, who is in his 50’s and has Parkinson’s?
We MUST keep fighting.
Writing emails and making phone calls don’t work. They just ignore us. They have been doing this for years.
Sen DeMint suggests we personally visit their offices, if we can.
What I do is write a letter to the editor, after I call or email them, and report what I said, to shame them publicly. Maybe that will get readers of the newspapers to contact them as well.
First Obama wanted the bill by Aug. 1, and it was pushed back; then he wanted it by Labor Day, and it was pushed back. This keeps happening, so, of course, the bill could fall apart -IF- we keep fighting.
That is EXACTLY right. ANY version of health care reform is unconstitutional. There is no authority to legislate my healthcare. That is the Real issue.
I personally think all of these guys are trying to create drama so people will tune into their shows. I hope I am wrong.
“I personally think all of these guys are trying to create drama so people will tune into their shows.”
That is true of the media in many cases, but when it comes to govt.health insurance, the liberal media wants us to THINK it’s a “done deal” so we will give up.
While Scheiffer is a liberal, he was being sincere, and he said it on Katie’s news show, not his own.
It is NOT a done deal until it’s on Obama’s desk.
Thirteen Republican state attorneys general are threatening to file a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the Senate health care bill.
We ask that Congress delete the Nebraska provision from the pending legislation, as we prefer to avoid litigation, writes McMaster. Because this provision has serious implications for the country and the future of our nations legislative process, we urge you to take appropriate steps to protect the Constitution and the rights of the citizens of our nation. We believe this issue is readily resolved by removing the provision in question from the bill, and we ask that you do so.
