Hate to break it to Hume, but Buddhists are every bit as forgiving as Christians. (I say this as someone who has spent alot of time in Buddhist countries)

Maybe Brit ought to be given an opportunity to preach to some other reprobate public figures as well. Lord knows, DC is full of them!

Which means that the “born again” experience was a total sham.

Before leaving his anchor position on the 6pm FNC news (ET), Brit mentioned that he planned to devote much of his semi-retirement to Bible study.

It’s very gratifying to see his willingness to put his biblical faith into action by sharing it publicly.

Glad to break it to you, but it's not the forgiveness from people that is important. That's nice to have, but the forgiveness from Christ - the one offended by our sin, that is important.

It Tiger had adhered to his Buddist faith, he would not have a problem. It is not his faith that is the problem.
The problem is he does not practice it.

If by "not have a problem", you mean his golf game, his relationship with his family and his sponsors, you may be correct. But it is our restored relationship with Christ that should be our primary concern. Trust me, when Brit Hume gave his advice, it was not Tiger's golf game he hoped would be repaired.

I saw this live.

My jaw dropped.

Brit Hume - the bravest Christian on television, dare say I.

BTW, Tiger is a crappy Buddhist. He violated most of the core tenants of Buddism repeatedly, so that "Hollywood Buddism" scam does *not* give him a pass.

Hollywood Buddhism is a scam. True Buddhism is not.

It is as difficult to practice as Christianity.

Wow, excellent. Lord, give Tiger the ears to hear. May Tiger have godly sorrow that leads to repentance rather than worldly sorrow that leads to death.

My point exactly.

Here's an odd observation, though:

Being a totally surrendered Christian makes being a good Buddhist easy.

Maybe that's the angle to take with Tiger.

Buddhists may be forgiving, but what is forgiveness from a man? Nothing. Tiger needs to turn to Christ for forgiveness; he needs to repent and turn away from his ways, for his very souls sake

Being a totally surrendered Christian makes being a good Buddhist easy. Not sure that would work. There is that First Commandment, something about "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." A truly surrendered Christian would have nothing to do with Buddah.

Buddah was just a guy, real Buddhists know that. Buddhism is a philosophy, not a religion. Yes, there are crazy offshoots that entertain religious notions, but they are abberations.
