Vasts amounts of money and assistance has been sent for years to Haiti with little results. I understand Bill Clinton was appointed this past year to oversee Haiti in some capacity, perhaps he will use his clout to get something done so these people have a functioning Gov. that will stop the extreme corruption there and throughout the area.
But it has been tried before without favorable results...those who have attempted to help are often times driven off. So to do that some form of military presence would be necessary I would think, in order to jumpstart the country on it’s feet, if it’s possible to recover at all.
Additionally there is a dangerous practice of extreme and damaging Voo-Doo practices throughout that affect the majority there. Many religious organizations on the island over the years have shared reports of this stronghold on people. Stories that have come out, would send chills up anyones back. It is a dark place in that respect, and the peoples mental and social abilities are vastly stunted for that.
Certainly all are greatly concerned for the people there, but far more than a rescue needs to be done for Haiti. It wil be years of much hard work and labor intensive to bring this country and it’s people back from this, to resemble any degree of normality...no matter how one defines that word. The question..who will be up to the task once the debri is removed and bodies buried??
May God find a way thru all this rubble of disaster and reach these peoples hearts and minds as well.
