Could folks on FR give this video a "reality check"?

Has anyone seen this video, and do you have any comments on its "validity?" If it is REAL, then we should be passing this one around quite a bit ... but I couldn't "confirm" the information and am being careful before I put it onto my own blog. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated.

This is the bill as it was passed in the House so aspects of it are certainly to reappear if they go for reconciliation. The mandates are in the Senate version, nothing changed there.

What the video does is just put it in plain english, not lawyer legalese/gibberish to distract from its real truth.

Jim, he basically does what you hear in the first minute or so, and I think our first response here might summarize it. He is putting the legalese into plain English ... but I was wondering if it was “valid” or “spin”. Hence my question.

I’d urge you to do what I did when I got this link via email. Listen to it, then download the pdf file and cross-check what the video says vs. the bill.

I think the bill is a piece of socialist crap, but I can read, and what the video attempts to reduce to “plain talk” comes off as oversimplified and vague at best, and completely misleading at worst.

I agree with the author, read the bill. Educate yourself. Don’t let some Youtube video become your total knowledgebase.

It is an excellent u-tube summary of the HR 3200 demonrat house version of what we have all been protesting.

This is an amazing summary. It is designed to kill millions of americans, save all illegal aliens, and tax to death those that reamain, while driving all American doctors out of the doctoring business, and it is full of ‘death panels’, many more than Sarah Palin envisioned.

Run it, with caution, and don’t be near anything breakable
while doing so.

You can see why I didn’t “post with haste” on this one. It does sort of make you sick to watch it. I tried matching up some of the text with the comments ... they seem to match, but I’m not an attorney and I do NOT understand the “legalese.” As I said to another person, too bad English is Congress’ “second language.” It would be nice if they’d put it in plain English. I’m going to watch for comments too ... so far most are sharing my original thoughts.

I think that of the first three, he got the second one wrong. The limit of 5000 and 10000 dollars seem to refer to the cost-sharing which is the equivalent of co-pay from the patient. Yes, there will be a panel that decides what benefits we get. He is right on that. The bill is patronizing and ridiculous on this point - says we will be allowed to give input as part of the public input process and then they will decide on what benefits to give us! Imagine having to go to public meetings and speaking for 60 seconds before some clerk interrupts you and tells you that your time is up! This indignity while you go to beg your own healthcare benefits from some stupid clerks working for Pelosi.

Did not understand the language related to the first point in the video though. The bill definitely mentions the government intruding into the works of businesses, whether it translates to audit, I cannot say.

BTW, when I asked for a summary, I meant that I would have liked to know the general topic without even clicking on the link.

Essentially, it is correct - though the bill that passed the House is somewhat changed from HR3200 as analyzed in the video (is is from August...).
