These unions are destroying our educational system.

I have great admiration for anyone that wants to teach in our public schools. The teacher unions are not about what is best for the students, but what is best for the members of the union. That is a fact. Too many teachers have forgotten that school is about the students, and not what is best for them.

If conservatives want to advocate bold policies that address the real needs of our time, they should start arguing that public employees (including teachers) be prevented from unionizing.

But can you imaging the shrieks of outrage (not to mention the money) that would be brought to stop such a commonsense move!

years ago, late 70s I think, the president of the UFT in NYC (I think his name was Albert Shanker, not sure tho) said -when children start paying union dues, then I’ll start caring about the children
