Nice attitude. Let me know how you feel when some terrorist yahoo decides that he/she doesn’t like some legal activity you engage in - especially if it is your livelyhood. When that terrorist throws Butyric acid on you, tries to run you off the road by ramming into you, and tries to otherwise disable your transportation while you are working...
Or maybe if someone is a trackhoe owner/operator and some enviro-crazy decides that they don’t want the particular project completed - so rams a tractor into the trackhoe, throws caustic or sickening chemicals on the operator and equipment, and does everything they can to wreck your work...
That is a very small, but similar situation to what the Sea Shepherd terrorists are engaged in. Don’t like whaling - then that is your call. But is it fair to engage in terrorist activities to stop LEGAL activity? Don’t think the whalers have families they are supporting? Home payments to make?
Would you feel the same way if eco-terrorists decided to do the same to US beef producers? Chicken plants? OR how about if this was done to your local deer hunters?
I don’t like the thought of eating dogs - but if that is what folks in Korea want to do - and it is legal - then who am I to commit terrorism to “save the dogs”?
How is this any different than what the whalers are experiencing? Just because eating (and studying) whales isn’t our culture - what right do we to say otherwise? Are they hurting us? No. They are allowed a quota as determined by the international whaling commission that falls well below doing any damage whatsoever to the whale population.
Remember your view when members of ELF (Earth Liberation Front) run you off the road to stop your perfectly legal SUV from “hurting mother earth”. Then again - you sure you are not a Prius snob?
Sorry... you just hit a very sore spot for me. And no, killing whales is not exactly my cup of tea - and I take no pleasure in said killing.
Where did I say I supported ELF? Get a clue next time.
