I usually take claims of military service at face value. In your case I'll make an exception.
What is a former vet, and why are you claiming to be one? If you were, at one time, a military veteran, how did you stop being one? Are you using the word "vet" to mean something other than a military veteran? Are you saying you used to be a veterinarian?
