If Gilchrist has come to terms with Perry, then I can set his past errors aside — at least for the moment. Medina has proven herself far too unreliable, unrealistic and unprepared for a position like Texas Governor. Kay has NEVER been a Conservative, and coming from Washington to Texas she would NOT be effective or successful as a Governor.

Perry is STILL not an ideal candidate. He STILL must have solid Tea Party Conservatives looking over his shoulder, ready to set him straight if he acts a fool and goes off the rails again. But he’s the BEST Texas has to choose from under the circumstances. And he’s seen the Tea Parties first hand. That’s enough to keep him in line for now. Kay could care less, and Medina is using them as a prop.

Thanks to Gilchrist for looking this over...

When Perry comes in again (he’ll win), he will take it as Carte Blanche to do all the things we worked to stop.

I think re-electing Perry is a huge mistake.

I agree that *Medina* isn’t ideal, but her power will be very limited.

Perry has a lot of political sway. I guess Gilchrist won’t mind fighting the TTC battle all over again. It’s his opinion and his choice, I just think it’s a huge mistake.
