THE FUTURE OF FOX NEWS – AT 10:15 P.M. ET: Those on our side have come to depend on Fox News as one of the few outlets where our views get a fair hearing. But will that always be the case?
There have been some disturbing signs in recent days. Fox, of course, is under the control of Rupert Murdoch, pro-American stalwart and something of a media genius. But Murdoch is aging, and it's widely reported that his son, James, who's becoming increasingly powerful in the parent News Corporation, which owns Fox, has views rather different from those of his father. In particular, James has an affinity for the Arab world, despite the fact that freedom of the press doesn't exactly thrive in that culture.
Fox News has received an infusion of Saudi money, primarily from a Saudi prince who spreads money around the United States to buy influence. Fox announced a few weeks ago that its Mideast headquarters would be in Abu Dhabi.
The obvious question is whether these changes will affect Fox's reporting. Several commentators have already noticed, as have I, a subtle change to a more pro-Arab line in some Fox news reports. A report by Amy Kellogg about the Golan Heights last night was particularly disturbing, coming from a reporter who's been reliable in the past. Left out completely, and shockingly, was the fact that the Golan had been used as an artillery platform by Syria to pound villages in Israel proper before Israel seized the Heights in the 1967 Six-Day War. Some of the reporting from Jerusalem has also been leaving out the context that Fox has normally supplied in the past.
How far will this go? Hard to say. But I'm afraid the signs aren't good. Rupert Murdoch will fade away. Money talks. It is frightening to think of the influences that may come into play in the Murdoch empire in the future, an empire that includes Twentieth Century Fox studios, the Times of London, and the The Wall Street Journal. We may find Fox taking the side of the very people who would deny it the freedom to report freely.
So far I haven't seen any anti-American slant creeping into Fox's reporting, but one can legitimately have concerns. James Murdoch is British, but educated in the United States at Harvard, from which he dropped out. His wife works for a Bill Clinton-sponsored organization, the Clinton Climate Initiative.

Will there be any news organization we can depend on? The corruption of our government and news media is sickening.
Any change in Fox News’ format would render them worthless like all of their counterparts. People want truth, and Fox is the most profitable BECAUSE they’re the only ones reporting truthfully. Anything less or different would be suicide for Fox. Is Murdock’s son suicidal?

If you owned Fox where would you put your Mideast headquarters? Where was their Mideast headquarters before?
I think PJTV has potential.
Unless and until we have another news company to provide competition, Fox only has to be better than the other options - which wouldn’t take much.
Breitbart has the right idea; we need to encourage him in his efforts. I’d also like to see Rush get involved in providing some news media alternatives.
We must never have all our eggs in one basket. A monopoly is way too easily corrupted.

UK Telegraph and the The Daily Mail are owned by the billionaire Barclay brothers who are pro-free market. They were working class Scottish Catholics from a big family who grew up in England. They are not CFR, Bilderberger, Davos, one world elites.

I do not trust any of the other news media. Murdoch has a second wife who is a chi-com and he has Saudi investors in News Corp/Fox. He also backed Blair and B-Liar’s Islamification of the UK.
What is Wife Wendi’s role in all this?
After all, she is a very practical Chinese businesswoman.

Fox can crash and burn rather quickly if there most loyal viewing base - the conservative majority drop them like a hat. I basically tuned out for a couple years from 2005 to 2007 because of their horrific cheer leading of Kerry in 2004...praising his performances in the convention and debates. I felt they over-accommodated to criticism of being biased. In addition, I grew tired of tv media in general after Katrina and the manufactured attacks on President Bush. I tuned back in during the 2008 election cycle and have remained since, but I will turn it off again if I see this trend continue. I personally am not convinced yet, but it will become apparent if they repeatedly spin things to the muslim world view.
Anyone notice that certain talk radio shows (Rush, Beck, Ingram, etc,.) are moving into live streaming? Beck is basicly turning his show into a live stream net broadcast.
I think they’re seeing a hostile future where “fairness doctrines” will force then on alternative venues.
How? Simple....congress will “deem” it so.
I work for a company in which the aging father is turning things over to his son. A more arrogant megalomaniacal idiot you will never find than his idiot son. I’m just saying anything is possible. Never expect the second generation to respect the achievements of the generation that preceded it.
I also have some concerns about this. But not much we can do about it. Another factor is that the children of successful men like Murdoch only rarely are capable of repeating their father’s success.
Roger Ailes has a proven record of bringing in viewers and money for Fox, which goes beyond politics and ideology. But will Murdoch’s heirs understand that?
I’ve never believed that Rupert was conservative. I think that if all of the major networks had a bias towards Republicans then Rupert would broadcast far left-tilted programming because the underserved market is the easiest way to make money. At this point Rupert has a monopoly over the viewing habits of half of the population while the other countless networks split the other half.
Well I have concerns about Fox now. I’m angry they took tv fox off line...closed down everyone with cease and desist.
I don’t watch enough Tv to warrent cable so “radio” is my friend. But i did like to watch fox online while this bills been wired up.
Countries know that whoever controls the media controls the people...am not surprised ME countries are investing...they are going after anything that means control...ports...transportation etc. anything to do with commerce.

Fox is not conservative. Fox just doesn’t hate America.
