I never understood why people questioned her move to leave the Governership after the election.

As Gov of Alaska, she was very limited in what she could do for the nation. When she saw the impact she could make at a national level, I don’t think there was much choice after that but to step down if she wanted to continue working at that level.

Working at the National level had nothing to do with her decision to resign. Obama's minions had found a loophole in Alaska's ethics law and had shamelessly exploited it to destroy her politically and to drive her family into bankruptcy. Raw Chicago style politics at its worst.

She turned the tables on them by resigning, and thus thwarted what they thought was a full-proof plan to trap and crush her in Alaska.
