How do you know Rand Paul has “conviction” and “principle?” He has never held elected office. Here is a guy who was born in Pennsylvania, moved to Texas with his family and now runs for U.S. SENATE in Kentucky? It looks to me like you folks in Kentucky gamble on more than horse races.
I am sorry to see that folks there aren’t giving him a closer examination and asking more of their candidates than a convenient use of the word “liberty.”
As a patriotic American, I emphatically say we do not need “lie-bertarians,” but proven conservative Republicans. You do not understand the RLC is a group with its own agenda, USING the Republican Party for its own ends.

Here is what the Bill Johnson supporters were quoting on their web site related to Romney’s man Trey Grayson before Johnson dropped out.
“Now there’s Trey with connections to White House Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise, and Innovation Van Jones. You may recall him as the avowed Marxist and 9-11 Truther who recently resigned his position under Obama.
Add to the chicanery the following and you’ve got one hell of a mess in Kentucky Republican Senate candidate politics:
“Grayson is affiliated with the George Soros/Rockefeller funded,
ultra left wing, pro-Globalist, Aspen Institute. He completed an
Aspen-Rodel fellowship program. Aspen was founded as the Aspen
Institute for Humanistic Studies. Aspen recruits young ambitious
politicians with “bipartisan” leanings, and then grooms them for
higher office. (Notice how rapidly Grayson’s career has risen???)
Aspen’s CEO is the notorious left wing media mogul, Walter Isaacson
(former CEO of CNN and managing editor of TIME)Why does Grayson boast
his Aspen affiliation on his own website? No true conservative would
have anything to do with Aspen - an organization that welcomes
radicals like the self admitted communist Van Jones.”
Rand Paul is a state senator. Rand Paul’s leading in the primary polls because of dis-statisfication with Mitch McConnell’s leadership as Senate Minority Leader and Sen. Jim Bunning being unattentive to KY issues. Rand Paul is feeding on the anti-DC and anti-incumbent climate today. He would have been a non-starter in 2004.
