The world has changed from the depression era. How do you pay bills, pay property taxes, utility bills etc without a checking account?

That’s why 0 wants to give everyone “free” high-speed internet access. It’s easier to steal $$$$ from the people if they do all (or most) of their financial transactions online.

My uncle decided one day he wanted a big screen TV. He went and got some money out of the wall and went to Best Buy and bought one. They accept cash.

So do the property tax collectors. and the utility companies.

I am thinking a lot of self employed and small business owners and entrepreneurs have a cash box on hand-

Govt as a co-signer on your bank accounts may make the practice even more widespread. Those bank accounts could stay open but “shrink” a bit, eh?

I have known bible college students to use money orders, I think that is the term, the ones you get at a grocery store. It is a pain, but it is possible to do without a bank. Personally, I would keep the checking with minimal funds in it and do something with savings accounts. But if the gov is able to take funds at will, this nation is not long anyway.
