It will be interesting if Obama is a one term president who appoints 3 Supreme Court justices. Anyone know if that’s ever happened before?

I’m pretty sure Nixon appointed 4 in his 1st term. Burger in 69, Blackmun in 70, and Powell and Rehnquist in 71. Of course, just our luck, only Rehnquist turned out to be a solid conservative. 1 for 4. How is that possible?

Reagan named 3 in his 2nd term. Scalia in 86, Rehnquist to replace Burger in 86, and Kennedy in 87 after Bork and Ginsberg went down.

Stevens clearly wants to leave while the dems still have a huge majority in the Senate.
