New Testament Passages Concerning Homosexuality

Romans 1:21-27

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and to fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For which cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”

This passage in Romans is the clearest New Testament passage that condemns male and female homosexuality. But these verses can not be looked at by themselves. They have to be studied in light of the verses around them and chronologically when it happened.

Waiting for the pro-homo Freeper Trolls to chime in with their Oprah-esque logic.

In light of this, those in the Church who advocate death for homosexuals are, I believe in error and need to get in line with Scripture.

The only people I hear advocating anything approaching this call for "death" are the Democrats in Fred Phelps' cult.

The only other people bringing it up are those who seek to denounce the church's stance against homosexuality as "sinful".

Genesis covers this topic, Leviticus and Romans.

1Cor. 6:9 Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or anyone practicing homosexuality

1Tim. 1:9 We know that the law is not meant for a righteous person, but for the lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and irreverent, for those who kill their fathers and mothers, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral and homosexuals, for kidnappers, liars, perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching

1Tim. 1:9 We know that the law is not meant for a righteous person, but for the lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and irreverent. . . .

I always love how the holy men of all stripes fold in the "haters," and the indifferent, along with the murderers, perverts, and other universal scum, as those worthy of being beaten down by "the law," either ecclesiastical or otherwise.

This is exactly what I love about Romans ...cut and dry.

I don’t think Romans 1 is as much a history lesson as a simple statement of cause and effect. “If there is no God, everything is permitted.” Fyodor Dostoevsky

I'm not sure what you mean about "all stripes", but I do appreciate the fact that liars, kidnappers, adultery and homosexuality are all condemned equally. It just shows you how bad homosexuality is considered to be by God and how lightly we take things like lying and adultery.
