I was surprised the Republicans stood up to the Dems today.
They rarely stand up for anything anymore.

They rarely stand up for anything anymore. Well other than the vast majority of GOPers in Congress opposing nearly everything Obama's done from the stimulus to Sotomayer to cap and trade and the entire GOP caucus in both the House and Senate voting against the healthcare bill...

Right. They didn’t stand up against health care reform either.

I was surprised the Republicans stood up to the Dems today. They rarely stand up for anything anymore. Thank those (or "us", however it applies) Tea Party rascals.
I think some country club GOPers fear that the tea partiers resonate with main-street America, and this forces the established GOPers away from their instincts to be collaborators and sell-outs and obedient cowards who live in terror of the "news" media's wrath.

I was surprised the Republicans stood up to the Dems today. One didn't, because Ben Nelson voted no. Any guesses?
