Wonderful.

If they could drill for oil and build the platform and get it up and running without causing an oil slick, then why can’t they cap it?

I haven’t heard beans about anyone trying to stop it from spewing. I’m presuming that someone would be working on that, but I also realize that that could be expecting a lot.

The blowout preventer failed for some reason.

Capping a wellhead at >5,000’ depth isn't an easy task.
