George Will Slaps Down Bill Maher on 'This Week'
http://www.associatedcontent.com ^ | May 03, 2010 | By Mark Whittington

Posted on 05/03/2010 4:24:34 PM PDT by Maelstorm

Bill Maher is a snarky fellow who has a half "comedy" half public affairs show on HBO in which he gets laughs by saying stupid, offensive stuff. "Republicans are racists." "Sarah Palin is a ding bat." "Barack Obama is a calm black man." But when he appeared on "This Week" Maher found out what happens when one says stupid stuff in front of George Will. For information purposes, Will is correct that Brazil is a heavy oil producer and consumer and Bill Maher, as usual, is full of--er--stuff. And somewhere David Brinkley is rolling his eyes and saying, "And I though Bill Clinton was a bore!"

A huge percentage of twenty somethings get their news from Comedy Central and this idiot.

As someone who grew up with some pretty major broadcast Journalists sharing my dinner every night, I have to laugh at these lightweights that inhabit the network news departments.

That’s what I asked yesterday. This is the equivalent of, 50 years ago, Milton Berle co-anchoring the Huntley-Brinkley report.
Today, all that’s needed to qualify you as a serious commentator on the corrupt media is being a big mouth leftist.

I wish Maher had told Obama Brazil was off oil before he gave them 2 billion.

As Americans were suffering from high unemployment Obama’s Puppet Master, George Soros boasted about having a “very good crisis.”

As Americans face higher gasoline prices following the oil spill in the Gulf, Soros stands to make money:

”The United States, through the U.S. Export-Import Bank, has issued a ‘preliminary commitment’ of $2 billion and more if needed” to Petroleo Brasileiro SA, a Brazilian government-owned oil exploration and development corporation known as “Petrobras.”

The Soros Fund Management, LLC has $900 million in Petrobras as of December 31, 2009.

In other words, not only does Soros make money from the offshore oil production in Brazil–we taxpayers helped finance it.

The Left does that often. They throw out outrageous "facts" and numbers about things the average person could not be expected to know off the tops of their heads and they get away with it. No body ever comes back and calls them on it and their lies are considered truth.

Soros buys Petrobras stock. Obama then reveals he will give PetroBras 2 billion as a start plus whatever they want in the future. I am sure Obama warned Soros ahead of time and it was not coincidental. Obama’s taxpayer funded insider trading.

Now George Soros funded Moveon.org and huffpo want all drilling stopped. Sooooooo, Ya’ think this might be a setup or a crisis abused so Soros makes a killing selling oil to America? This appears orchestrated to me.

@barackobama did you alert your Pal Soros so he could buy stocks? http://bit.ly/bIL2P5

Watch the entire segment. Will, who has more brains than the rest of the panel combined, couldn't get a word in edgeways. The rodent Maher went on to accuse all conservatives of being racists, and then clarified it by gneerously stating he would never accuse all REPUBLICANS of being racists. He was basically supported by the others on the panel & Will turtled as anyone in a similar situation would do.

Anyone with a right-of-Stalin POV is a mere foil on this kind of show. I dunnon why he agreed to go on with a sophist tool like Maher.

Here is what I am coming up with.

Year Barrels
2003 2,199,000
2004 2,199,000
2005 2,199,000
2006 1,610,000 26.78 drop
2007 2,100,000
2008 2,372,000
2009 2,372,000
2010 2,520,000

2006 may have been what Mahr was referencing but if the source data I have is correct, consumption rose every year after that.

Rank by country in oil consumption(bbl/day)
1 United States 20,800,000
2 China 6,930,000
3 Japan 5,353,000
4 Russia 2,916,000
5 Germany 2,618,000
6 India 2,438,000
7 Canada 2,290,000
8 Korea, South 2,130,000
9 Brazil 2,100,000
10 Mexico 2,078,000
11 Saudi Arabia 2,000,000

Brazil is in the top ten. The information is as of January 1, 2009

Regretfully, the Democrats have become the enemy of America, not just of the Republicans. We can pick out Feinstein, Boxer, Reid, Polosi, Lehman, and all the other leftwingers, but the entire Democrat Party has become the enemy of America as we know it, or knew it!

The environmentalist are only one of the radical wings of the Party. Their intent is to deny us energy independence while claiming the opposite, saying "green energy" is the answer and that "fossil fuels" add to "greenhouse gasses' which are killing us. It is all a big fat lie!

Drill here, drill now, drill everywhere! Forget CAFE standards! Forget unnecessary emission controls! (I don't mean all emission controls, only those that go beyond what is practical to achieve clean air.)

Give us back the America who made us great. Give us back the America who protected the rest of the world from the very people who control us now! Give us back our Freedom!

NO, I am not aware of agenda 21. Thanks for the links.

However, I am an old guy who has been learning about and keeping abreast of Communism since the 1940s. I am glad Glen Beck has joined the struggle against this evil. It is truly a battle between Good and Evil.

Communism and Islam are common foes of freedom. Each believes in world domination and the destruction or enslavement of nonbelievers. They are working in concert now to destroy Western Civilization but sooner or later, were they successful, they would be engaged in a fight to the death.

We see gangs on TV with members who readily admit their lifestyle leads to one of two places - death or prison - yet they continue in it for it is all they know and the weak can’t escape from the strong and cruel.

That describes Communism and Islam, also. Gangs, Communists and Muslims can only exist if there is a productive, prosperous and moral host. We provide what they take. Without us they have only each other and parasites cannot live off each other.

So far, in the USA they are only using guile to gain control. Once they have complete control, like they did in the USSR and they have now in China and some Muslim countries, the gloves come off. They even wall their victims in so they can’t flee. The parasites must have a host.

This is what I don't understand. Islam is the only way. They accept no other. How did they join together?

What do you think of Krauthammer saying Communism is dead and no threat any longer? He was not even concerned about a communist being close to the White house when Van Jones was there. I wonder if he has changed his tune.

Perhaps the formation of communism and Islam are Progressives?

David Horowitz wrote a book titled Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left in which he details the connections and their purposes.

Here are some Amazon book review blurbs:

Review

Before Americans vote for their next president, they must read David Horowitz's account of the Left's alliance with Islamic radicls -- Lt. General Thomas McInerney USAF (Ret.), Co author, with Maj. General Paul Vallely, Endgame

David Horowitz is synonymous with pyrotechnics. A historian and polemicist of the first order, he is paid the ultimate compliment -- Rich Lowry, Editor National Review

Mike 'Rifle' DeLong was the best deputy commander I could have imagined. Seasoned in Vietnam as a young helicopter pilot, -- General Tommy R. Franks, U.S. Army (Ret.), former commander of CentCom

Written with great zest and intellectual energy, David Horowitz's Unholy Alliance is primarily a devastating indictment of how the radical -- Norman Podhoretz, Author, critic, and senior fellow at the Hudson Institute

Product Description
In this book the author blows the lid off the bizarre alliance between the liberal Left and radical Islam.

The seeming incoherence is what would happen if they are successful, left with only each other. Would they divide the world among themselves and coexist? Or would they stick to their doctrines of total domination? If the latter then the most ruthless with the better weapons would destroy the other.

I am not aware of Krauthammer saying Communism is dead or being unconcerned with those in the WH. Unless he is quibbling on terminology, and I doubt that, he may think with the crumbling of the USSR and China's embracing of limited free enterprise signifies the end of Communism. If so, I don't agree. They may call it something else but the results will be the same.

I have his book on Shadow government. This is someone along with Thomas Sowell, who knows communism both being red diaper babies and breaking the chain.

I will get the book. People like Rahm, Dershowitz could not possibly want a Islamic rule. Gays on the left should be scared to death by Islam.

Obama is putting all getting all of his ducks in a row. Sharia finance thru GE is being funded by taxpayers and now Obama’s microfinance funding is the only type of funding Sharia law will accept.

Horowitz has a great interview on Robert Ringer’s blog you should not miss. http://www.robertringer.com/

I will find Krauthammer’s comments later.

The only thing I can figure is they are following the old adage of, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." They both hate all that is not them and we are the most obvious example of that.

The Communists at this point must be very confident they can control the Muslims if necessary. You can bet they won't follow the rules of engagement they insist we follow. Yet, the Soviets lost a war to the Muslims in Afghanistan after fighting for 10 years, so who knows? Of course, we helped the Muslims in that instance.

The Muslims follow the Koran which advises them to quietly infiltrate a society and be good citizens until they have enough in number, usually only about 3 - 5% of the population, and to then start demanding Sharia law in the areas they occupy and to riot and kill if they aren't accommodated. It would be interesting to see how that would play out here but I don't want to be around for it. We already see it in Europe, especially Britain and France.

That is the importance of the 2nd Amendment. We have it and Europe doesn't.
