I am about 3200’ elevation, so won’t flood, except where the roof leaks.
As for location this is a poor choice, I am a mile from the intersection of highways 93 and 68, both will have the californians on them and in those tiny cars, they can make it here on a tank of gas.
What many do not know, is that Kingman was the evacuation
point for Tucson and Phoenix, at the beginning of the cold war, something about the mountains and winds, between them and San Diego, that the nuclear material would dump on them, if San Diego was hit with a nuke.
Then that would have meant 20,000 people and we had a Civil Defense Center in our courthouse basement, not any longer.
I doubt if there is even a 2 day supply of food in Kingman, as nothing grows here, it is all trucked in.
Our water is from 2,000’ deep wells.
Best bet for folks is to get prepared and stay put.
WOW.
PRAYERS FOR THE LEAKY ROOF.
Are folks—loved ones and nearby folks—planning on helping you with that? How many leaks in what spots?

It is the old metal roof, the family and also hired men fix it, seal all the holes and gaps, then the wind blows, it ripples and breaks all the seals......and leaks again, often before I get rain to test the last repair.
A second roof would solve the problem, but is not possible for me to build now.
Any chance that a few strategically placed new metal sheets over the top of the old would help a lot?
Goodness!

Nope, didn’t work, tried that.
A few years ago, they put in a fancy freeway interchange, a mile from the house, it changed the wind patterns and gave me a straight shot of high winds every day.
Roofs blow off, stove pipes blow over, even with guy wires.
In another 10 years, they will have to enlarge the freeway and maybe it will change the wind pattern again, for the better.
Build an underground house . . . at least half buried.
Sigh.
Wish I could do more for you.
Can’t even manage that for myself.

LOL, several were built here, and all were on the edge of major flood planes.
Never heard how many filed up with water.
That you care is enough to make me happy.
Thank you for caring about people.
LOL . . .
BUILDING AN UNDERGROUND HOUSE anywhere near a flood plain is insanity!
At least a high hill with a south slope is needed, imho.
Thanks for your kind words. I do care.

Agree.

Great find.
How did we do...recap of the year or false statements? Or ...hasn’t happened yet and still on the horizon...
