I have heard much the same from friends who lived there. Especially from the French Jews who move away. There are little communities of formerly European Jews who leave Europe to come to America or go to Israel.
Some things never change.
I think that the climate will soon emerge where Jews will again be welcome in Poland.
At least the late President Kaczynski made many efforts towards reconciling Poles and Jews. And Poland has been Israel’s strongest defender in Europe as of late.
There has been a growing movement in Poland recently to rediscover Poland’s past Jewish heritage. A huge museum is soon to open in Warsaw commemorating the history of Polish Jews.
And of course the lack of Muslims in Poland helps too.
There will always be some anti-semitic knuckleheads to be sure. But I believe one day, Jewish culture will once again flourish in Poland.
