Another reason I believe that entertainers should entertain and keep their politics to themselves and their friends. The only thing an entertainer can accomplish by going public (like McCartney) is to alienate a large chunk of their support base.

Or as a friend e-mailed me: “I’m gonna illegally download ALL of McCartney’s albums... and then DELETE THEM in protest. (LOL)”

Yeah, that oughtta show him.

I say, just enjoy them as best we can sans politics.

ATTENTION PAUL MCCARTNEY: Your rudeness calls for an apology as widely highlighted as your impudent comment about former President Bush. If your incredible ego allows you to admit to your faux pas, we’ll let bygones be bygones, but if that’s how you truly feel, well good luck and goodbye.

Look what political talk did to the Dixie Chicks. They are to appear with the Eagles at St. Louis soon and they can’t give the tickets away. As of yesterday, ticket prices were cut in half for the coming concert. Commentator said “I just don’t care for the back up band”...my sentiments exactly...
