I’ve read somewhere that most countries have two leaders: One who is the official head of state and goes to all the galas, dinners, and functions; and the other who does the actual day-to-day governing. The U.S. is one of the few in which both positions are consolidated. But Obama thinks of himself as the head of state and doesn’t want to do the actual governing.
I’ve thought, too, that Barry would do a pretty good job in a ceremonial post. It would keep him and us out of trouble.
