Someone gave me two tickets (second row — center) to a Red Skelton performance years ago. I wasn't particularly enthusiastic, but I went and took my young son. What a memorable night that was! When Red recited the Pledge of Allegiance with his explanation, I could see his love for America in his old eyes. Tonight I went to a website where I could hear him again. The fury and nearly consuming anger I feel toward the present leaders of our country abated for a while, and the gentle faith of the old comedian filled my heart. It's Flag Day, not that anyone much noticed in our town, but, thanks to Red, my flag flies every day.
