Assuming you can find XP drivers for the devices in the netbook, you should do fine.

Win7 is just Vista the way it should have been. It is literally just another release of Vista (which is NT6.0 -- Win7 is NT6.1).

Win7 really is a very good OS. But if you're more comfortable with XP and can get it to run on your netbook, that does sound like the right choice for you, at least until Microsoft pulls the plug on XP support in a couple years.

I’ll confess. My main machine is:

As others have said, I have software and hardware that I use and XP would choke on.

I checked out the Samsung N150 and until Feb of this year they were marketing it with XP. Now if I can get XP Pro on it???
