So what did we learn after today’s prologue? We learned that Fabian Cancellara is the baddest man on the planet when he’s on a time trial bike. I would love to see Cancellara and Armstrong go head-to-head when both are in their prime; it’s always fun to play what if.
Armstrong definitely made a statement to Contador and everyone else, he’s here to WIN! Beating Alberto Contador by 5 seconds had to be a serious psychological blow to the younger Spaniard. Lance put serious time into the other GC contenders and also showed that Team Radio Shack is the dominant team in the tour (Evans and the other GC men should be thankful there’s no Team TT). Here’s how Armstrong compared to the other GC contenders with his Radio Shack teammates thrown in to show their superiority.

Well, we know how Floyd did it, and then lied about it, and almost convinced us he was a victim.
People who cheat, steal, and lie aren’t easily trusted later when they try the “hey, I’m not so bad, everybody does it” argument.

blam, I’ve not yet read what you are posting from Landis. I was a big fan of his but really have to question what his motives here are. He slams Armstrong just before the California Tour then goes silent for a couple of months. Now, on the eve of the Tour de France, he comes out swinging again. Seems to me that he obviously has an agenda or is fronting for someone else who has an agenda and hatred for Armstrong. Now, has Lance “cheated”? I cannot say.

My family is from around Dothan...my parents (as children) were farmers around the Wicksburg area. I was born in my grandmothers farmhouse in Houston County.
I believed Floyd's innocence and shelled out $20 for his book. He obviously has no integrity nor honor.
I have nothing against Contador and can understand why he burnt the bridges he did.
However, this year he has to put up or shutup. If he wins and he just might, then good for him.
With that being said, I hope Lance does very good. This BS that you are past it once you hit 30 is getting old. Especially for those pushing way past that
Until I broke my back earlier this year, I had reached life best fitness in cycling reaching speeds of 40-41 mph when sprinting at the age of 40. I think it’s over rated too, now I just want to recover... and yes it was a cycling related crash.

A Prologue does not a Tour make. With some 2,000 miles or so and 19 stages left to go which includes six mountain stages it is far from over. I think Lance will be severely tested in the mountains only because he has many more miles under his belt than the younger Spainard.
That said I’ll be watching each stage and hoping that Lance can pull it off in his final Tour.
I think this will be a very interesting tour. I found it interesting the Contador couldn’t drop Janez Brajkovic in the Dauphine. Much like Lance I’m sure he had specific training objectives but it sure looked like he was all in on the climbs and didn’t have the snap.
Flash back to last year and Lance hung on Ventoux. I’m pulling for Lance but just hope we have an entertaining tour. There is certainly a ton of young talent right now.
