That ‘missing fragment’ might be part of the circuit board.
If that’s the case, then you may not be able to recover anything from it, but someone may be able to open it up and check to see if it’s just a matter of replacing missing ‘traces’ on the board.
If it’s just missing part of the ‘case’ then try the flex trick. It might work.
