INDIA - Around 1.2 million children are believed to be involved in prostitution in India.
According to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) “human trafficking is a major problem and they believe that 90 percent of human trafficking in India is "intra-country"
According to Mr. Ashwani Kumar, head of Central Bureau of Investigation on trafficking said, that India has occupied a "unique position" as what he called a source, transit nation and destination of this trade.

It would probably be a safe bet to claim that there are several times more than a million young teens in America who are prostituting themselves for petty favours from the porn kings.

Simply take a look at the number of high-school students who venture forth into such areas. Many enter the trade by prostituting themselves to fellow students, first.
look at how they call each other “ho” and “pimp” - the rap/hip hop music has glamorized it ... and kim kardashian with her “adult film” ... sex, money, and fame - it’s easier than college right? sick.

Very profound, perhaps more than you think. All the nations of history have grown more corrupt as wealth increased and could be acquire with relative ease. America, I’m afraid, is victim of this perpetual fault as well. Toynbee is justified again.

I don’t think the customers of the prostitutes are those “telecommunications” types. I’ve read reports earlier, and the biggest sustainer for prostitution in that part of the world is truck drivers. The brothels are along highways, hidden inside lodges and small towns.
I’m stunned. 1 million! in a nation of 1 billion, that’s like 0.1%
well, it has because there is too much TV. TV dominates our lives and not just in the USA. Toss out your TV (or at least use it just for DVDs which you control) and the family will be a lot better — more time for real family life

I know — can you believe it, 0.1%! Or, since you consider that 50 to 60% of India’s population is below 20, that means that 0.4% (assuming half of those are females) are child prostitutes! Out of 250 to 300 million girls, 1 million are child prostitutes — horrific!
