I’ve been throwing this out for a couple of days hoping someone can provide the source. There is an essay I believe one of the Austrian economists and one of the ideas is about compromise. The idea is that when there is a difference of opinion there is no proof that the truth (answer) is in the middle (the mean). The truth might very well be one of the end points. So far no one has replied with the source and I just can’t remember where to start looking. However it seems very appropriate in these times when there is the idea that all will be well if everyone compromises.

The truth might very well be one of the end points.

There may be many, many valid sources for your quote, or very similar quotes.

On average, each American adult has approximately one breast and one testicle.

Clearly, the truth is not in the mean.
