Canada has no right to free speech. But I would bet if those activists were muslims throwing firebombs at cars the police would have stood quietly by watching. That big cop looks pretty brave arresting a young woman armed with bubbles. If it were some actual thug armed and able to harm people he would probably hide in a corner.
Someone should have started calling him Bubble Boy!
The USA in many places is wors; they’re trying to make it illegal to simply take PHOTOS of cops.
For a long time simply to TOUCH a cop is technically grounds to be arrested for assault.
Ummmm...that last one does not surprise me very much.
That guy in the ratty t-shirt would’ve gotten a nightstick upside his head back in the day. The cop simply could’ve said that he made a threatening move.

Um, you mean “battery.” And touching is battery . . . ignorance of the law is no excuse. If you don’t believe me, try touching me (in a harmful or offensive way). And I’m not a cop.
OTOH, I'd like to be able say I was never an ignorant, uninformed kid ... but I voted for McGovern in '72.
