There IS a height and weight on “the official one”.

I have an official BC from the State of Hawaii from the 60’s.

It includes height, weight, hospital, doctor, time of birth among other facts.

(by he way, I was born in a hospital in Hawaii in the 60’s. My parents never received an unofficial certificate with feet stamps on them. They could have been saving money and never paid for one, but for the record not every baby received it)

My parents did have to have the official BC for me because my father was active duty and needed the documentation.

Barry (if born in HI) does have the info or can get the info. He either can’t because it doesn’t exist or he doesn’t want to. Simple as that.

from Dreams of My Father", page 26:
"I discovered this article, folded away among my birth certificate and old vaccination forms, when I was in high school. It's a short piece, with a photograph of him. No mention is made of my mother or me, and I'm left to wonder whether the omission was intentional on my father's part, in anticipation of his long departure. Perhaps the reporter failed to ask personal questions, intimidated by my father's imperious manner; or perhaps it was an editorial decision, not part of the simple story that they were looking for. I wonder, too, whether the omission caused a fight between my parents."

You could have fooled me because back a year or more ago there were supposedly OFFICIAL Birth Certificates from Hawaii posted on FreeRepublic to show the difference between Barack Obama's Certification of Birth that was posted online and a real Certificate of Birth. There were none posted that had height, weight, etc on them.

You did not have to buy the Hospital Birth Certificate. It was given to you. I don't know about Hawaii hospitals, but I do know what they did in Washington and California and they gave out Certificates. They were not official though but like I said I was nieve and thought they were. I think a lot of people did and that is why they quit issuing them.

Re: unofficial, commemorative Hospital Certificates with foot prints. I have one for my first daughter from IL in 1960, but my other 3 children, who were born in CA in 1961, 63, & 65, have none. The CA hospital told me they weren’t doing them any more. My mother has one for me born in ... (I won’t tell you) born in CA.

You must have gotten the medical portion as well as the standard part they copy. They’ve tried to tell the public they won’t make those copies any more, even though it’s in their HDOH Rules that a person can receive the whole thing - medical portion and all - if they request it specifically.

Did you receive that BC recently? (Don’t answer if you don’t want to)
