First, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg stepped in it over the proposed Ground Zero mosque by sanctimoniously declaring his support for freedom of religion. That was a real profile in courage, since he knew very well the issue had nothing whatsoever to do with freedom of religion. No one was telling the mosque developers that they couldn’t build the mosque. We were asking politely for them not to build it where jihadists incinerated nearly 3000 Americans on September 11—in the name of Islam. That point was clearly lost on the Mayor, who was lost in his own arrogance, ignorance, and foolishness.

This mosque, if built, will simply be a target for another McVeigh. 3-5 years from now we’ll be mourning the deaths of more first-responders and New Yorkers killed when some moron’s ANFO laden truck goes up outside the mosque. On that grounds alone the mosque should be cancelled as a public nuisance and a threat to safety.

That reminds me of a story Rush spoke on yesterday. A bunch of union leaders went into a GM plant workers meeting, and tried to get the workers to cut for 50 cents on the dollar. Instead of stirring them up, and trying to get them to fight for their “rights’, the union leaders ask the members to probably take a bigger paycut than management ever asked. The workers threw them out.

You notice they’re not encouraging a strike?
They’re not doing what they would normally do if they were on the other side of the aisle. They’re acting just like management does in these situations everywhere around the world. So the World Socialists are upset at Obama Motors and the UAW executives because they say they want the workers to go along with the destruction of half of their living standards. Now, the only thing missing here... (laughing) The only thing missing... What’s the next thing that could happen?
