New York High School Exam Praises Islam and Attacks Christianity
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | Paul Cooper

In the heat of the Ground Zero mosque debate, New York public high schools are pushing a test that slams the history of Christianity while exalting the spread of Islam. Some NY teachers were so upset when reading the Regents exam on Global History and Geography that they have complained to the press and even leaked their teacher’s guide on the test.

The exam gives high schoolers questions based on nine sources on the spread of Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism. Buddhism is given a slight positive, yet mostly neutral treatment in the exam. The spread of Christianity gets a mixed treatment of neutral statements and pretty blatant attacks. Islam, on the other hand, gets promoted and hailed as not only positive, but specifically better than Christianity.

At least one Brooklyn teacher who administered the exam complained to the New York Post:

There should have been a little balance in there… To me, this was offensive because it’s just so inappropriate and the timing of it was piss-poor.

I have read a copy of the Regents Exam and here are some examples to show the imbalance.

In talking about Islam spreading to Africa:

“Merchants were carriers of Islam rather than agents of Islamization…Muslim men of religion were peacemakers.” – John L. Esposito, ed., The Oxford History of Islam, Oxford University Press

The school board’s choice of John Esposito as a source is enough to reveal a bias toward promoting Islam. Esposito is a Georgetown professor who has spent his career defending Radical Islam. He placed the blame for 9-11 on the lack of pluralism and tolerance in America. Esposito has long decried American ‘imperialism’ while defending Islamic terrorism. He has asked Jews and Westerners to reject the “irrational fear of terrorism.” The professor refuses to even study Islamic violence.

“The school board’s choice...”

The immorality of adults corrupts children.

What, exactly, is going on in this country? Are we being run by Arabs? It’s odd that our supposedly intellectual classes admire a religion that subjects women and practices pedophilia.

She must teach "Vulgar Language Skills" or maybe Ebonics.

Whatever HER task is, I can tell you my vocabulary expands considerably when reviewing topics like this one.

Has anyone noticed that public schools are forbidden to include anything that smacks of Christianity, yet they are free to trash Christianity at will, and promote Islam at the same time.

Additional thoughts and resulting expletive(s) deleted...

Of course they leave out the fact that most of those merchants were slave traders.

those who support the 9/11 mosque are pro-islam, not pro freedom of religion

The reason the leftist intellectual class admires Islam is that Islam opposes Christianity as do the leftists. In so many words the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

They are not looking at Islam any more than they looked at the the Soviets or the free love movement. They, like the angry children they are, embrace that which hates what they hate.

America is a nation that has become practically unrecognizable to those of us with a memory!

How can we allow a school, or government, hierarchy to get away with the utter insanity of cuddling up to evil is incomprehensible.

This country needs to be stood on its ear alright, but by the majority of citizens that are truly incensed and aroused!

We need islam in our midst like we need to be murdered then kicked into mass graves.

Storm the boards of education and take back control of our children’s education, or get rid of all public education before it kills us.

You asked, "What, exactly, is going on in this country?"

The fight is more than between men and between countries. The fight is also a spiritual fight between good and evil. As the time draws nearer for Satan's rein on earth to end, his fight against Christianity becomes more intensive. And don't for a moment think that the evil one will not hesitate to use weak men to what ever purpose will suit his needs. We have become a nation of weak people, so unsure of their own spiritual beliefs that they can be used. So sad!!

The fact is that in this country today many of the people in charge hate Christianity, they will therefore promote anything that will help do away with Christianity as a religion, that includes islam. In fact islam is seen as there best bet for tearing us away from our Christian roots. I believe they think that once they have managed to get Christianity banned they can then do the same with islam and they don't really care how bad islam is.

What's going on??

The original deal which Nixon, Kissinger, and D. Rockefeller set up for OPEC in the 70s provided for us to protect the Saudi royals in perpetuity in exchange for oil being sold only for dollars (you should understand fractional reserve banking in order to grasp who got the long end and who got the short end of that deal), nonetheless that does provide the pushers of I-slam with the wherewithal to attempt to colonize the United States.

A serious response to 9/11 would have been to immediately ban the importation of oil into the U.S. That would mess us up about as badly as we were messed up during WW-II for about a year and a half and it would put the opekkers back in tents and on camels where they belong.
