Enjoyed your satire. A question. How and why did you select DeRidder, LA as the location?
Way back in the day when I was at Ft. Polk, LA before the 5th Infantry Division Mechanized moved to Ft. Hood, I remembered going through this town called DeRidder, LA. The name stuck out and worked as well as any town. New Orleans was too big for the satire, and so was Baton Rouge.
