The inadequately trained CVS pharmacist extracted only air from the vaccine bottle. Fortunately, I was watching and caught the screw up before getting an injection of air. Then I took the syringe and demonstrated how to properly draw fluid from a vial.
I’m one of those people who steer clear from those shots because of the preservatives used in them, in combination with human idiocy ala` NautiNurse’s post. There are things like Guillan Barre` syndrome and autism that i believe can be triggered by “hot shots”; which occurs when a vial has been stored long enough for the heavier components like thimerasol (mercury based) to settle. When the syringe is filled in a vial that is almost empty, that had not been properly shaken, one would get a much more concentrated dose of these chemicals. I know there has been much debate on the thimerasol thing, but i don’t think they’re looking at it from this perspective when studies are done.
Ask for preservative-free vaccines and you should be alright.
Wow, that's spectacularly unprofessional.
Getting an injection of air can be fatal.
