I saw the clip. When he came to the “...endowed by their creator...” part, and paused for several seconds, you could almost hear his rusty brain creaking to avoid the phrase. How blatantly un-Christian was that? What a moron.

I asked a co-worker who supports Obuma why he would misquote the Declaration and leave out the Creator. He said, “Haven’t you ever heard of separation of church and state?”!?!?

I was discussing the use of ellipsis in rhetoric merely to explain that Obama did not “misquote” the Declaration. A misquote is when you misstate or alter the words. An ellipsis is simply a rhetorical device.

Now why he decided to use it ... that’s left up to the thinking man.
