Atheists are not "quite diverse"We're not talking about people who are exclusively self-described atheists - who are relatively rare - but people who say they don't have a religion.
There are plenty of people like that who do not hold strong views on religion.
There are plenty of fiscally conservative independent/libertarian types who are not religious.

There are plenty of fiscally conservative independent/libertarian types who are not religious. Evidently not so many.
The voting data is pretty clear, no religion=overwhelmingly Democrat, liberal voters.
That also points out the weakness of that "fiscal conservative/socially liberal", nonsense.

People STILL bash Bush for saying he prays and relies on God for guidance, yet Obama has had the very same thing. The difference is everyone knows Obama is a four-flusher.

A lefties brain is primitive, it cannot generalize and cannot distinguish, and so can hold diametrically opposed opinion on subjects with no discomfort. Its formed opinion all depends on the context, whim or propaganda of the day - no thought added. Save the penguins, kill the babies! Clinton carrying bible good, Palin carrying the bible bad! Disgusting amoral behavior by Democrap, ok, fine, good. Slight hint of transgression by Conservative, scary and horrific! Muslim prayer and practice, good. Christian mention of God in public place - evil.
I dismiss out of hand any serious opinion that a liberal utters or writes - it is most often anaphoric regurgitated tripe and nonsense, sometimes funny, to be laughed at, ultimately sad: for lack of their reason, and for my awareness that these idiots breathe the same air and share a nation with me.

My point is that explicit appeals to traditional Christian faith have no value as an electoral strategy in a DE general election.

She needs to know how far she can go, she wants to push faith to invigorate conservatives, but not so much that it stimulates the left wing voters, since they hate Christianity.

I understand.
It could be, as ansel12 seems to suggest in post #28, that general points unite Christians much more than particular points divide them.
General points such as the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection.
