It’s actually pretty easy to defeat a lib in a debate -

just get them to define the terms they’re using (as you did with “expensive”) and get them out of the realm of generalities into the actual results and consequences of their policy (you’ll make ME pay for what he chooses not to pay for),

and they really don’t have anything to stand on.

Exactly! I have found very few liberals who can clearly define anything. I used to have running debates with a lady who was a Sociology prof. In the give-and-take of a good debate, it was pretty easy to paint her into a corner using her own definitions. At that point, she would almost always say: “Well, that may be so, but I don't believe it!” and she'd storm away. How can you debate someone like that?

I ate lunch alone most of the time...
