A few years back, there was a very odd outbreak of Marburg. Odd in that the transmission of the disease was not following its typical patterns, and that the fatality rate was much higher than normal.

There were a number of threads of people talking about it, and MA was on them a lot. These threads were so good there were researchers posting on it to bounce ideas off of people on occasion. Mother Abigail was one of those posters, and had some very interesting insights.

Was the mystery of that Marburg outbreak ever solved?

These hemorrhagic fevers fascinate me at the same time they give me a first class case of the creeps. Always make me think of:

I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!" I looked and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hell was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
