I’m so sick of Karl Rove. It turned my stomach in the Bush years to see this guy hailed as a great architect when what he was doing was convincing the Republican party to bargain with the Democratic-Socialists. What he was doing was selling a hard Progressive Republican to the masses. Bush was disastrous because of his Progressive agenda and conservative Republicans have suffered ever since, thanks to Rove. Big government Progressives like Rove are the reason why the Republicans will be pressured to compromise with Democratic-Socialists, and we cannot allow any further compromises. This country has been moving too fast and too far to the left for far too many years now. Rove needs to go away and conservatives like Hannity and Limbaugh are fools for allowing a Progressive like Rove to have a platform to spew his garbage. They risk their own credibility and relevancy in doing so.

The compromise he refers to is always to the left, never back to the right.

I think the term “Progressive Republican” is at least honest. It embodies the same big government principles and objectives that fit under the “Compassionate Conservatism” label. I suspect that most of the people who think of themselves as government conservatives had no objection to “Compassionate Conservatism” (even though they should have); but would reject being tagged as a “Progressive Republican.”
