Even in the context of modern political writings that statement is repulsive to the founding concepts of the Republic. A congressman is supposed to be a representative of the citizens, not a feudal baron.

I think Charlotte is making to many inroads into the black community for the bigoted socialist Ms. Thomas.

Cohen is not even running a campaign against Charlotte, he’s that certain he is “SAFE”. He’s a career politician first at the state level as a senator, now as a 2 term US Rep. He is a pelosi/reid/obama clone.

I understand the reference to putting blacks on the porch (see "Porch Monkey") but not "Tinker". So I searched, and the same "newspaper" had this editorial by Wendi Thomas, about Cohen's opponent in the primary (I guess, in 2008): Tinker Lowers Bar in Ninth (2008), although in that case the "porch" comment was in a COMMENT, not the article:

Ms. Tinker needs to go back to the porch and wait for the check.

Other articles also had comments like that:

Emily's List did not do their homework on this one. Tinker has been running a racist campaign since 2006 and is now grasping at straws to get another vote or two. Nikki Tinker is going to be sent back to the porch on Thursday, hopefully never to be heard from again.

nikki tinker ( tinker Bell) need to keep sitting on the porch with her granny and wait on that CHECK..most people are going to vote for MR COHEN ( this is from a BLACK person)

And it turns out Wendi Thomas wrote an article in 2008 with the title "Nikki, I'd Say your porch is waiting", in which she said:

There's a place for an ambitious lady like Tinker. Perhaps she should look for a porch in Alabama with her name on it.

So apparently black people think black people sit on porches waiting for their welfare checks. Which isn't surprising, because the liberal white elite have told blacks for decades that this is all they are good for, and that without help blacks are useless. It's not surprising that some of them believe it.

I’d bet her first articles were horrid until she got her feet under her...they are still bigoted. For the sake of my sanity I rarely read her tripe. Only reason I looked at it is that Charlotte Bergmann is MY candidate of choice. I sure don’t want Steve Cohen...the pelosi/reid/obama clone.
