Not so sure it's a bad thing. A six seat pick-up was a great day. Two years ago, demholes were talking about picking up KY, OH, MO and FLA this year. Didn’t happen. Pubbies handily defended these seats and took 6 of 13 of their seats. Only 6 months ago, no reasonable person thought 10 seats was remotely possible. The fact that a few months later, leading into the election many reasonable observers thought it was possible showed how much trouble the demholes were in. By that time dem strongholds like IL, WI, WA, WV and CA were in play and the demholes were on defense everywhere. As sweet as it would have been to take down Boxer and Reid, there’s several reasons it’s probably better the pubbies came up short:

1 - A pathetic and disgusting Harry Reid will still be the face of the democrats in Congress.

2 – If the pubbies took the Senate, Obama – fully supported by his mediawhores - would run against a do-nothing-Congress.

3 – Pubbies might have defacto control. Manchin can’t support Obama, otherwise he’s toast in 2 years. there’s a dozen demholes in red or purple states up for re-election in ’12. They won’t be marching in lockstep with dear leader anymore. I’ll bet now that the Repubs pick up another 6 seats in 2012.

4 – the most important plus is this: Having 51 R seats would put too much power in the hands of RINO fools like Graham, McCain, Snowe, Collins, etc…Obama could easily pick-off any two of these losers on any given issue.

It was a great day. However, the Tea Party are the WINNERS. The RINOs got the boot along with the ‘Rats. The NRSC screwed the pooch. The blame goes to the RINOs, not the Tea Party candidates.

Very good points. Plus, with having to garner 60 votes in order to move a bill through the Senate, even with a Republican majority, the Dems would have made sure nothing the Republicans put forward would pass.

Just the same, I am disappointed at the poor campaigns run by Fiorina and Whitman here in CA. Boxer and Brown were so beatable. Both had high negative ratings. Fiorina’s campaign was a joke.

Excellent. I concur with your analysis. I have no love for any RINO country club type, but what the heck? We won big. In the wake of such a great victory why start a bickering contest over what might have been?

Let’s enjoy the huge victory and work to try and make greater gains against Democrats and the Republican establishment RINOs in ‘12.
