Esperanto is derived from the longer name "Doktoro Esperanto" or Dr. Hopeful, roughly the same word as Esperanza.

It's always good to look these things up before running off at the mouth.

Frankly, it's a failed language ~ the designers presumed that prefixes and suffixes to control grammar was the superior method.

They had little understanding or appreciation of Chinese and English, and now it's too late. Bill Gates has even begun to combine English with a written language in the style of Chinese written language.

Bwahahahahaha!

Actually, esperanto is very dangerous. Its goal was to obliterate all existing literature and all history and replace it with the new language.

I used to have a book written by George Barnard Shaw which was written totally in Esperanto. Didn’t he create it?
