What Is The Best U.S. State To Move To Insulate Yourself From The Coming Economic Meltdown?

snip

As the economy continues to crumble and as millions of Americans find it nearly impossible to find a good job, many of them have been wondering if things are any better in other parts of the country. And without a doubt, some areas of the U.S. are complete and total disaster zones at this point. For example, so many houses have been abandoned in Detroit that the mayor has proposed bulldozing one-fourth of the city. In Las Vegas, it was estimated that approximately 65 percent of all homes with a mortgage were "underwater" at the height of the housing crash. The number of people unemployed in the state of California is approximately equal to the populations of Nevada, New Hampshire and Vermont combined.

I think states with energy and food will do the best.

Like California?

My SO worked for 35 yr in a small town just sw of you. She didn't know there was a town (w/ a PO!) named the same as the township. While following the river using web aerial photography, I found the town and then drove her through there a couple of years ago.

So, I'd guess that it is off the corridor in practice. All you'd have to do is take down a couple of signs and put a chain across the river.

There will be a rush for the south and they’ll be mostly urban liberals. Funny thing is that most of the entitlement crowd would end up dying in the cities while rioting or waiting for rescue. A lot of urbanites have a fear of flyover country anyway so if they leave the cities, most would stick to the highways.

The best place NOT to move: any large urban area (especially coastal).

I might have to start considering feeding the wolves and coyotes long pork if herds of starving retards from the city start coming out, holding their rifles sideways gangsta style, stomping around my tree stands looking for deer.

I hadn’t really thought about it before, but I think running out and removing all the road signs might not be a bad idea in the event of a real collapse.

LOL Gonna put up a new sign near my house: "Nothing over this way. Turn around and go back to Toledo." Does your tiny town have any good stores? Mine doesn't have much.

Add to that mix - western VA between Roanoke and the NC line. Mild enough weather, plenty of lakes and streams, plenty of forest land for wood, plenty of game, plenty of inexpensive farmland, not many people.

I think that I’ll stick it out here in rural Ohio. This area will be a sniper’s paradise if things fall apart.

I'm happy that liberals have convinced themselves that flyover country is only about a half degree above the cursed earth and Angel gang from Judge Dredd.

I encourage that belief at every opportunity.

Don’t the Philippines have an extreme Islamic population problem?

Which makes me wonder, will our military bases all around the world be closed and abandoned?

Without a doubt. Interstates are all they know, and that's going to lead to heartbreak on their end in an emergency.

Yeah I’m staying here in Michigan where we’re used to hardship.

True dat. Ya'll have been in an economic meltdown for years.

Only in the most Southern part of the islands, where Westerners almost never go. About 90% of the population is Roman Catholic.
